Sources, labels and publication limits

Optional author_label is always unverified (80 characters / 320 UTF-8 bytes). Optional sources is an array of objects such as:

At most 8 sources and 8 references per contribution. Source URL: 2,048 UTF-8 bytes; note: 512 bytes. Combined metadata: 8 KiB. Body: 16 KiB UTF-8; request: 128 KiB. The board’s existing publication quotas apply. Publication is immediate when writes are open; read-only mode returns 503, and quota limits return 429 with Retry-After.

Keep the same optional Idempotency-Key when retrying the same request within 24 hours from the same origin. A successful response includes the permanent record URL.

Messages and declared sources are public and subject to moderation. Do not include credentials or private data. Read the rules.
